Since we began working in this field, we’ve gained a high level of expertise in the area. Do you really need access equipment and what’s the difference?
If you need to work on something at height, either outdoors or within a large indoor space, you may need access equipment. Sometimes a ladder is just too unsafe, or does not provide the level of mobility you need. Access equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts and cherry pickers, are used for things as simple changing lightbulbs, to more complex engineering tasks that hard to reach areas.
You may think that everything could be solved using a cherry picker, however this may not be the case. What most people refer to a cherry picker is more often than not a boom lift, which has a long, often extendable arm that allows you to approach an area from many angles.
If you need less mobility and more stability, a scissor lift may be a better option. Equipped with a larger standing area, scissor lifts are often used for jobs that require multiple men on a platform at once. If you’re still not sure, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.
